My ONE FAVOURITE K.A. Tucker MOMENT

My favourite K.A. Tucker moment actually happened before I read any of her books. It happened before I met her at a book signing. It happened before the GPS got us lost and the snow storm almost killed us on what was the LONGEST ROAD TRIP EVER!

My favourite K.A. Tucker moment was at a book signing that she was NOT attending. It was the first time I went to one of these. It was the first time I realized I was not alone in my love of books and disregard for sleep. It was the first time I met people who understood that 2 large coffees were ALWAYS the answer to a sleepless night because just-one-more-chapter turned into crap-it's-4am-and-I-read-the-entire-book!

If you've ever been in a congregation of book-lovers, you know that the conversation always turns into what everyone has read. There is shock when a title is mentioned and you stare at them with a blank face. There is giddiness and lots of eeeeking when you talk to someone who has read the same books as you. It's like you've met your other half. Because your true other half got really tired of hearing you talk about that character in that book so they put you on a plane so you can be among your people and he can watch Sunday Night Football in peace.

So my favourite moment...

While we were waiting for the authors to come out, about 5 people (all at the same time), asked me if I've read K.A. Tucker. I hadn't. This was early 2013 and I'd only binge reading NA for the past month (26 days to be exact, and I read 30 books in that time frame). There was a collective WHAAAAAAAT?! from the audience. I thought I might have to skip the signing if I wanted to make it out alive. But in a moment of brilliance, I took out my phone and opened by notepad app to write down the title that the group was yelling at me.

Ten Tiny Breaths.
The cover is blue and has a girl with red hair on it.
You have to read it.
OMG - you have to read it.
I can't believe you haven't ready it!

On January 20, 2013 at 2:03pm Dallas Texas time (I took the screen shot this morning, hence the 7:16am), I was introduced to K.A. Tucker. That people who I instantly trusted recommended her first, and she was the first one I wrote down - that it my favourite K.A. Tucker moment. The instant love for a book that I had never heard of, a cover I'd never seen, and an author I didn't know.

AND THERE'S A GIVEAWAY!

  2. Great post! I was wondering how you two met.

Favourite TTB series moment? I really can't decide, but if I must, I'll choose when Trent was speaking to Kacey through the glass near the end of the book. I didn't know K.A. Tucker at the time and I wasn't sure how this was all going to play out. It was so emotional and I thought I was going to vomit because I was so afraid that this wasn't going to end the way I wanted it to end.

I also love pretty much anything Ben says.
